Arriva Shipping has announced it has entered into an agreement with Chinese shipyard Jiangsu SOHO Marine Heavy Industry Co. to construct a new battery hybrid dry cargo vessel.
The 8,000 dwt vessel, set to be delivered in the third quarter of 2026, will be a sister vessel of the company’s Nor Viking, delivered in 2022, and another ship ordered at Dayang Offshore Equipment, set to be delivered in 1H2025.
The vessel will feature a 2 MW battery hybrid system and reduce emissions and energy use while meeting strict environmental regulations and customer demands for efficient logistics.
